This Sunday! The annual Health and Healing Day will be Sunday, October 28th beginning with the 10 a.m. mass followed by lunch hosted by Knights of Columbus Ladies Auxiliary at the Knights Hall. Lunch will be served at approximately 11:30. Kay Benward will be the guest speaker. She is the fitness center supervisor at Capital Region Health Plex. Nurses will be available to do blood pressure screenings and Father Dave will have a prayer service and anointing. Plan to attend a day of spiritual healing, educational information, entertainment and friendship.

CHRISTMAS IS JUST AROUND THE CORNER!!
Is your Christmas buying list long, and your gift idea list short?? How about purchasing Scrip or Gift Cards for your employees, friends, and family. We have grocery stores, restaurants, dept. stores, sporting good stores, movie cards, etc. available, or for order in about a week. There are lists of participating businesses at each door of the church or you can go to www.glscrip.com for a complete list of all businesses that participate nationally. The profit from the sale of these gift cards benefits the St. Francis Xavier Home and School Association. Any questions or to place an order you can call Shirley Woehr at 395-4268, or send the order form through school. Thank you in advance for your support.
 

St. Francis Xavier Parish will be initiating a new Automatic Banking procedure effective November 1st. This will allow automatic withdrawal from your checking or savings account. Forms will be available at the entrances to the church. If interested, please complete the authorization form and return it either in the collection basket or to the parish office.

The Helias Cross Country team will once again host the annual Spaghetti Dinner the night before the Missouri State Cross Country Championship races. The Spaghetti Dinner will be held at the Helias Commons on Friday - November 2nd from 4:30pm - 7:00pm. Tickets are $7.50 for adults, $4.00 for kids ages 6 - 11, and kids 5 and under are free. This is an all you can eat dinner which includes spaghetti, salad, dessert, and drinks. To buy tickets see any of the Helias Cross Country team members or contact Eric Schlotz at 573-338-1350.

Order Your St. Francis Xavier School Logo Apparel: Polo shirts (long and short sleeve), wind shirts, hoodies and sweatshirts and cinch bags are on sell from Oct. 29th – Nov. 9th. Will make nice Christmas gifts. Payment should be made at time of order. Any questions contact Marsha Holzer at 395-4637. Order forms are available in the school office and must be returned before Nov. 9th. Orders will be returned the week of Dec. 3rd.

                        POLICY: If you are unable to work on your assigned date, turn in your $15 to the parish office.

“Fun”d Raiser Night at Pizza Hut for Blair Oaks Project Graduation. Come out and support the graduating Class of '08 on Monday, Nov. 5th from 4 – 9 p.m. Pizza Hut will donate 20% of sales during this time. Coupons to present at time of purchase will be available at church on Nov. 3rd & 4th.

Helias Band & Color Guard Gator Bowl Fundraiser: The Helias Band and Color Guard is having a fundraiser for their upcoming trip to the Gator Bowl in Jacksonville, FL. If you need a day to Christmas shop or run errands without the children we can help. Babysitting will be available on November 10th – 17th and December 8th at St. Peter Selinger Center Cafeteria from 8 a.m. – 4 p.m. The cost is $35 for all day or $20 for half day (will provide lunch for all day children). Call to let us know if you would like us to watch your child/ren: Glenda at 636-4836, Jackie at 893-2820 or Susie at 636-6995. Leave a message with the child’s name and age, your phone number and the date(s) you would like babysitting.

Please help the Jefferson City Area Board of Realtors to Keep the Home Fires Burning. The Realtors annual chili supper will be held Tuesday, October 30 2007 from 4-8 PM. The supper will be held at the Eagles located at 1411 Missouri Blvd. Tickets are available at the door, through local realtors, or at Samaritan Center. Tickets cost $6.50 with proceeds going to Samaritan Center’s utility assistance program. Children 5 and under are free.

A Jefferson City tradition continues.  The 47th annual St. Joseph Cathedral Christmas Bazaar will be held on November 11 at the Cathedral undercroft, 2215 West Main St., Jefferson City.  The event includes turkey dinner with all the trimmings, served family style or carryout, from noon until 6:00 pm.  Cost for the dinner is $8.00 for adults, $4.00 for children 6-12, and children 5 and under are free.  There will also be a raffle with a $5000 travel package as the grand prize.  Call 635-7991 for more information.

Thank you. We want to thank the people of the parish who attended the mass for our brother & uncle Alfred. A special thanks to Father Dave for making the mass so memorable and special. To Mary Jane Henke and the adult choir, to Joan Cassmeyer for serving as communion minister and Melissa Cassmeyer to fill in as one of the servers. To all the men & women who helped at the luncheon and all who brought food. To the K of C for working with us for use of the hall and anyone who assisted us in anyway.
