Needed seventh and eighth grade teacher for C.C.D. program. Program begins Sept. 12th and goes through April 23, 2008. C.C.D. classes are every Wednesday, evening at 7 pm. in the school. For further information contact Dorthy Wittkop at 395-4803.

Lion-Palooza — Battle of the Bands, Saturday, September 29, at Jefferson City YMCA (Firley Center: 525 Ellis Blvd.) An alcohol-free and drug-free event for amateur High School ‘garage bands’ from the 65101-65109 zip codes. Step 1: Audition — Mail your VCR or DVD audition tape (no longer than 2 minutes in length, plus a $20 processing fee, by 9/1/07) Step 2: Performance — Winners will be selected and notified by the Breakfast Lions judges by 9/10/07. Jefferson City Metro Area Local Ultreya will be held Tuesday, Sept. 11, at St. Andrews Parish in Holts Summit, Mo. at 7:00 PM. All Cursillistas are encouraged to attend.
St. Margaret Parish Centennial Celebration, Sunday, September 16th in Osage Bend. Opening ceremony/military salute at Noon; free entertainment and children’s activities; various demonstrations throughout the day; antique/memorabilia display; classic vehicle, tractor and farm implement display; self guided driving tour; vendors for dinner, drinks and snacks; outdoor dance from 5-8 p.m. Bring your family and celebrate 100 years of faith, friendship and family.
Greetings! As programming begins this fall, I would like to invite you and your teens to join us for the annual Diocesan High School Youth Rally on Sunday, September 16th. This rally is a great chance to see a great Catholic speaker, hear some uplifting music, attend a spirit-filled Mass, and make new friends with teens from around the diocese. This event offers a little bit for everyone, including adults! Registration deadline of Monday, September 10th. Take the High Road, “Don’t Let Peer Pressure be your Game”! Dynamic & mesmerizing in his delivery, past NFL Pro Football player, Shawn Harper will be in Jefferson City at the Farm Bureau building Thursday, Sept. 13th beginning at 6 p.m. to share his personal story of tragic life mistakes dealing with peer pressure as a student and athlete, and his ultimate turn around in prioritizing personal success in his relationship with life and God. www.shawnharper.org Christian musician Shannon Cerneka with Odd Walk Ministries will provide music entertainment prior to the evening engagement. Students 13 years and older, parents and any other interested adults are encouraged to attend. Light refreshments will be served. The event is free. Family Day - A Day to Eat Dinner with your
Children is a
national movement that encourages parents to frequently eat dinner with their
kids. The National Center on Addiction and Substance Abuse at Columbia
University has found that the more often kids eat dinner with their families,
the less likely they are to smoke, drink or use drugs. Family Day will be
celebrated nationwide on Monday,
September 24. To

Helias Mother’s Club will hold their Annual Dessert Extravaganza on Wednesday, Sept. 12th, at 6:30 p.m. in the Crusader Commons. Please bring a dessert to share, meet new mom’s, and learn about what great things the Mother’s Club is doing for Helias.
Help is needed!! St. Francis Xavier Church is in need of a Church Cleaning Coordinator for the first Saturday of each month. The coordinator is responsible for contacting that week helpers and assigning cleaning duties and making sure the church is clean. If you can help please contact Pam at the parish office at 395-4401.
