in the parish or using them, (i.e. college or away from home) please call
the parish office and let Pam know to stop the envelopes. We are trying to
cut cost in anyway we can.
Come one and all to the Coed Adult Kickball Tournament Fundraiser on
Sunday, May 18th starting @ 9 a.m. at the Taos Countryside Park. All
proceeds go toward St. Francis Xavier Playground. Admission $1.00, age 10 &
under free.
We are in the beginning stage of getting a new pictorial directory for our parish. We need a committee to host at portrait time. Portrait times are scheduled for July 29th – August 23rd, Tuesday, Wednesday & Thursday 2 p.m. – 8 p.m. Friday 1 p.m. – 7 p.m. and Saturday 10 a.m. – 4 p.m. Lifetouch is handling all the details, scheduling of appointments and follow-ups. If you can help please call Pam at the office 395-4401. I will have a sign up sheet in back of church later in the year to sign up for hosting times. We would like to invite St. Francis Xavier & the Taos community to “St. Francis Xavier School Band Concert” on Monday, May 5th at 7 p.m. in the school gym. Reception to follow. “Sixth Graders: Hope for the Church” is the theme of the Sixth Grade Vocation Day to be held May 7, at the Cathedral of St. Joseph in Jefferson City. The main speakers for the conference will be Sister Kathleen Wegman, SSND, Chancellor, and Father Benjamin Nwosu. The purpose of the day is to educate the students about religious and priestly life. Speakers include Bishop John R. Gaydos, sisters, brothers, priests, deacons, seminarians and people in initial formation from various communities; and, in addition, educational games, exhibits from religious communities, handouts and “Show Time” (skits on vocations performed by high school students) are a part of the day. Don Lammers will be the celebrant at St. Margaret of Antioch Parish in Osage Bend, MO being sponsored by the Jefferson City Catholic Charismatic Service Team. The evening will begin at 5:30 p.m. Saturday and consist of Charismatic Praise & Worship, inspired teaching & individual prayer with prayer teams. The New Melleray Trappist Monastery in Peosta, Iowa will be hosting an exciting “Live-in Experience” vocational retreat soon. They only have this once a year so don’t miss it. Work and pray with the monks on their 3500 acre farm and enjoy the vocational talks. The date is Memorial Day weekend May 23rd – 26th. There is no cost but space is limited. There are several members of your parish who do take an hour in our chapel, but we would like to extend the invitation to all of you, to consider taking an hour. The chapel is open 24 hours a day, 363 days a year (closed on Good Friday & Holy Saturday). We also close down in icy weather.
