He married Lily Knuckles 4 July 1907.

Gentry Chitwood and Lily Knuckles had the following children:

432 i. Neta⁸ Chitwood. She married twice. She married Bill Goforth. She married Clarence Sutton.

433 ii. Paul Chitwood.
