He married Elizabeth M. "Betty" Whitecotton 12 Jan 1840 in TN. Elizabeth was born 13 Dec 1818 in TN. Elizabeth was the daughter of Aaron Whitecotten. Elizabeth died 9 Mar 1900 in Reynolds Co., MO, at 81 years of age. Her body was interred Mar 1900 at Old Bethlehem Cemetery in Reynolds Co., MO.

193 i. Amanda Jane⁶ Chitwood was born 23 June 1842. Amanda died 29 Oct 1898 at 56 years of age. She married Lay.

194 ii. William Wayne Chitwood was born in MO 29 Jan 1844. William died 10 Jan 1866 at 21 years of age. He married Sarah. Sarah was born 1846 in MO.

195 iii. Ellena "Delaney" Chitwood was born in MO 24 Aug 1845. She married Thomas S. Barnes 1872.

196 iv. Cecilia Ann Chitwood was born in MO 18 Sept 1847. Cecilia died 1875 at 27 years of age. She married John Mays.

197 v. Isaac Shelby Chitwood was born in MO 28 July 1849. Isaac died 8 Mar 1870 at 20 years of age.

198 vi. Martin Beatty Chitwood was born in MO 18 May 1851. Martin died 27 Mar 1902 at 50 years of age. He married Elizabeth Mary Webb 25 June 1871. Elizabeth was born 20 Dec 1852 in MO. Elizabeth died 12 June 1912 at 59 years of age.

199 vii. Henry T. Chitwood was born 16 Aug 1854. Henry died 1942 at 87 years of age. He married Fanny Coleman. Fanny was born Feb 1868 in MO. Fanny died 1954 at 86 years of age.

200 viii. Joel S. Chitwood was born in MO 12 Dec 1856. Joel died 6 Sept 1862 in MO, at 5 years of age.

201 ix. Elizabeth China Chitwood was born in MO 28 Feb 1858. Elizabeth died 15 Sept 1925 at 67 years of age. She married Eli Lewis. Eli was born 1846.

202 x. Sarah "Sally" Chitwood was born in Reynolds Co., MO 1 May 1862. Sarah died 10 Apr 1955 in Reynolds Co., MO, at 92 years of age. She married John Wadlow 16 Oct 1880.
