85. Hugh C.⁵ Chitwood (Pleasant⁴, James³, Richard², Matthias¹) was born in Scott Co., TN 27 Oct 1812. Hugh died 21 Aug 1885 in Reynolds Co., MO, at 72 years of age. His body was interred Aug 1885 at Seth Chitwood Cemetery in Ellington, Reynolds Co., MO.

He married Jane Nicholas 1 Jan 1835 in TN. Jane was born 15 Jan 1815. Jane was the daughter of Elisha Nicholas and Phoebe. Jane died 26 Oct 1891 in Reynolds Co., MO, at 76 years of age. Her body was interred Oct 1891 at Seth Chitwood Cemetery in Ellington, Reynolds Co., MO.

Hugh C. Chitwood and Jane Nicholas had the following children:

+ 181 vii. Elizabeth Chitwood was born ca 1848.

+ 182 viii. Samuel (Seth?) Chitwood was born Jan 1856.
