78. James⁵ Chitwood (Pleasant⁴, James³, Richard², Matthias¹) was born in Scott Co., TN 27 May 1798. James died between 1840-1850 in Boone Co., IN, at 42 years of age.

He married Sarah 25 Feb 1819 in Scott Co., TN. Sarah was born ca 1798. Sarah died in Boone Co., IN.

James Chitwood and Sarah had the following children:

133 i. Noah⁶ Chitwood was born in Scott Co., TN 9 July 1821. Noah died 1899 in Boone Co., IN, at 77 years of age. His body was interred 1899 at Poplar Grove Cemetery in Harrison Twp, Boone Co., IN. He married Rebecca Richardson 20 Jan 1845 in Harrison Twp, Boone Co., IN. Rebecca was born 11 Jan 1823 in Scott Co., TN. Rebecca died 27 Jan 1912 in Lebanon, Boone Co., IN, at 89 years of age. Her body was interred Jan 1912 at Poplar Grove Cemetery in Harrison Twp, Boone Co., IN.

134 ii. Elizabeth Chitwood was born in TN 1823. She married David Ingram 1841.

135 iii. Mary H. Chitwood was born in TN 1824. She married William S. Abney 1850.

136 iv. Amanda Chitwood was born 1826. Amanda died 1851 at 25 years of age.

137 v. Elvina Chitwood was born in TN 1827. She married Abner C. Nott 1848.

138 vi. John Charles "James" Chitwood was born in Harrison Twp, Boone Co., IN ca 1835. He married Malimah Berry. Malimah was born 1846 in IL.

139 vii. John Chitwood was born in IN 1839.
