51. Pleasant⁴ Chitwood (James³, Richard², Matthias¹) was born in North Carolina 9 May 1775. Pleasant died 14 Mar 1851 in Scott Co., TN, at 75 years of age. His body was interred Mar 1851 at Perkins Cemetery in Scott Co., TN.

He married Sarah Cowan 28 Sept 1797. Sarah was born 27 Feb 1778 in Sevier Co., TN. Sarah was the daughter of David Cowan. Sarah died 15 Aug 1847 in Scott Co., TN, at 69 years of age. Her body was interred Aug 1847 at Perkins Cemetery in Scott Co., TN.

Pleasant Chitwood and Sarah Cowan had the following children:

+ 79 ii. David Chitwood was born 20 Mar 1800.

+ 80 iii. William Chitwood was born 7 Dec 1801.

+ 81 iv. Nancy Chitwood was born 27 Nov 1803.

+ 82 v. John Chitwood was born 23 May 1806.

+ 83 vi. Daniel Chitwood was born 24 Feb 1808.

84 vii. Polly Chitwood was born 17 June 1810. She married an unknown person 24 Nov 1825.

+ 85 viii. Hugh C. Chitwood was born 27 Oct 1812.

+ 86 ix. Isaac Shelby Chitwood was born 28 Jan 1815.

+ 87 x. Andrew Chitwood was born 11 Apr 1817.

+ 88 xi. Pleasant Chitwood was born 13 July 1819.

+ 89 xii. Sophronia Chitwood was born 8 Feb 1825.
